World Commerce & Contracting (WorldCC.[1]) is a global membership association for those working in fields related to commercial and contract management. With over 75,000 members across 180 countries, including many large corporations and government agencies. WorldCC provides research, certifications, learning programs, benchmarking, and networking opportunities to professionals. It was founded in 1999 by Tim Cummins, then known as IACCM (International Association of Commercial & Contract Managers). It changed name to WorldCC in 2020[2]. Their CEO is Sally Guyer.

Mission and Service

[edit source] As a non-profit organization, WorldCC's mission is to help organizations and individuals reach their full commercial potential by enhancing Commercial and Contracting practices[3]. This mission is supported through industry-standard training programs, certification, insight reports, and resources.

Leaning initiatives

[edit source] WorldCC has three certification programs, Commercial & Contract Management, Supplier Relationship Management, and Modern Procurement. The Practitioner level Commercial & Contract Management program was refreshed for 2024. WorldCC has also expanded its educational offerings to include Modern Contracting workshops and an Introduction to Relationship Management self-paced online program.

Research and Insights

[edit source] WorldCC is is known for its research on commerce and contracting on topics such as AI, ESG in Contracting, ROI of Contracting, the Purpose of a Contract[4], and Relationship Management benchmarking. Every other year they publish a Benchmark report[5], and a Most Negotiated Terms Report, for use by their members and the wider business community.

Strategic Partnerships

[edit source] In 2023, WorldCC struck a partnership with the National Contract Management Association (NCMA)[6]. This collaboration, led by WorldCC CEO Sally Guyer and NCMA CEO Kraig Conrad, aims to refine and expand the application of the Contract Management Standard(TM).

Events

[edit source] Each year WorldCC hosts three Summits, one in EMEA, one in APAC and one in Americas[7]. They also host weekly webinars, digital takeovers, and in-person meetings around the globe.

Recognition

[edit source] In 2019 their founder and President, Tim Cummins, won an award in 2019 overall winner as one of the Ten market shapers: Pioneers use tech and data to change the way we do business[8]. And in 2024 WorldCC was named as International Association of the Year in the Association Excellence Awards[9]
