Early Life
editChildhood
editWhile Yoriko claims that her past is something that should remain there, she has come out about a few facts that 'empower her'. She was born and raised on the island of Okinawa in the city Naha, growing up her whole life wanting to be an idol and singer-like she is today. Her birthmother, of which Yoriko refuses to give the name of, encouraged the young Yoriko to become a star, while her father supported the young family by whatever means possible. However, Yoriko's mother is now deceased. The information of how is not public, and Yoriko has said that it is hard to recall. After her mother passed away when Yoriko was 10, her father abandoned her and sent her away to Tokyo, where she was told to 'Make a name for herself'. She has said nothing more about her childhood.
The Okodatos
editAfter spending some time in an orphanage, Yoriko was adopted by Mr. and Mrs. Okodato at the age of 10. She was homeschooled until it was time for Yoriko to go to Secondary School, where she was signed up for the infamous Ryoshi Academy. Yoriko has not made much of her school life public. What can be gathered, however, is that she spent her first and most of her second year at Ryoshi, before moving to Suzuki High School, a less looked upon school. She spent only a few months at Suzuki, before moving to the much better known East Zaibatsu High School to finish up her school years. She has also publicly said that she will be taking a year-long hiatus to finish out her studies, though assures fans that it is far from the end of her career.
Yoriko's Past Friends
editYoriko has spoken up about only one of her friends, saying it was the only one she had. The tone she used was ominous, like "She was trying to recall something that shouldn't be recalled" Says Iro Kaguya, someone who often interviews Yoriko. Yoriko said: "I had a friend, yeah. She was super kind to me and I was super kind to her. [...] It was back when I was more of a silent person, a part of me which I will not talk about. It's hard to remember her name now. [...] Ah, yes. She truly was the sweetest thing. However one day, she just... left. Took almost nothing, left everything behind for me to wallow in. [...] Am I bitter? Not really. Not anymore, at least. I can not imagine where she is, and frankly, I do not care. [...] I mean, I guess I wish I could see her one more time, but I guess it's too late, right? I'm sure she's off doing her own adventures. She never had the guts to follow me to where I wanted to go. I'm not sure she even knew." -Yoriko Okodato on the "What Comes Next?" podcast. While sounding bitter and remorseful, Yoriko has stated multiple times that she had a calming and mellow time of life after she moved in with the Okodatos. She repeats that she knows that this is the best time of her life.
Interactions
editFan Interactions
editFans and other people that have interacted with Yoriko, usually on set, describe her as a very lively and bubbly person. "She get's the job done and always has a smile on her face. I can tell she's wanted this for her whole life." -Joe Serizawa, while working with Yoriko on the movie "'Til Love Separates Us", where Yoriko played the lead female support.
Family Interactions
editWhile with an interview with Yoriko's current mother, Ai Okodato, she jokingly stated how Yoriko was 'becoming a rebellious teen' and how she used to be a 'sweet and harmless angel', though when Yoriko heard this, she said that all in total she did not interact with her current family that much.
Affiliations
editFriends
editWhile Yoriko has not been public about her friends in any capacity, repeating multiple times that she'd prefer her privacy. However, she has been seen getting coffee with what people have jokingly referred to as 'Yoriko's only friend', being a short girl with thick brown hair, who Yoriko would often stand up for and call "Princess". Yoriko has asked for her name to be kept private. She was also seen walking into Zaibatsu's Kappo Sushi with four others. Only one of them is known as he appeared during one of Yoriko's photoshoots, who she enjoys calling "Nonamed".
Family
editYoriko has been very distant with her birthfather, after he decided to abandon her. However, she has said that she would like to meet back up with him, as she realizes that he was trying for her and wants to give him the benefit of the doubt. The Cloud Nine Agency
editYoriko's agency, The Cloud Nine Agency [3], have been very generous in helping Yoriko accomplish her goals. Her manager, Ishiro Yunega, while militaristic in the way that he manages Yoriko's schedule, is very patient and sympathetic with the young star.
