YoungHoon Kim (Korean: 김영훈; born May 25, 1989) is a South Korean intellectual recognized for holding the highest recorded IQ score of 276.[1][2][3] He is a distinguished member of several high IQ societies, including the GIGA Society and the Mega Society which was the only one listed in the Guinness Book of World Records in history, and has achieved perfect scores on various high-range intelligence tests.[4][5]
Early Life and Education
editKim has pursued extensive academic studies across multiple disciplines including psychology, neuroscience, linguistics, sociology, philosophy, and theology.[6][7] He studied at prominent institutions such as King’s College London, the University of London, Korea University, and Yonsei University. He currently collaborates with research labs and centers at prestigious universities like Cambridge and Yale.[8][9]
Career and Achievements
editKim is the founder and executive director of the United Sigma Intelligence Association (USIA), a non-profit organization that gathers some of the world's most renowned intellectuals including seven Nobel prize winners.[10][11] His organization has recognized figures like Noam Chomsky, Yuval Harari, Richard Dawkins, Howard Gardner, Neil deGrasse Tyson, Anthony Giddens, and Terence Tao with official awards.[12][13]
He serves as an intelligence specialist advisor for several international mind sports organizations, including the World Mind Sports Council, the World Memory Championships, the World Speed-Reading Championship, and the World Mind Mapping Championship. Kim was also the first South Korean arbiter at the World Memory Championships and the Asia Pacific Memory Championships.[14][15]

editKim is certified as the highest IQ record holder by the Korea Record Institute, World Genius Directory, Global Genius Registry, Esoteriq Society, and GIGA Society.[16][17][18][19] In 2024, Reader's Digest listed him as the number one person among the 50 individuals with the highest IQs in the world.[20]
