Zafric (born Chidi Nyenami Okezie).[1] is a Nigerian singer, and songwriter[2]. He is best known for his debut single "WAVE".[3][4]
Early life and education
editOriginally from Bayelsa State, Zafric spent his formative years in Port-Harcourt, River State, in the southern part of Nigeria, raised in a close-knit family by his mother, alongside his younger brother Waebite Okezie..[3] He was introduced to music at a young age by his mother, which laid the foundation for his passion for music. As a teenager, Zafric gained recognition in his school for his singing abilities, often performing popular tunes at talent shows. At the age of 13, he started penning his songs, drawing inspiration from musical icons like Whitney Houston, Bruno Mars, Adele, and Brandy, whose work deeply influenced him[3] Zafric holds a Bachelor's degree in Music from Bowen University.
Career
editIn October 2023, Zafric made the bold decision to pursue a career as a musical artist, partnering with LFA, a talented producer he knew from his university days. Together, they created Zafric's debut single, "WAVE," a captivating blend of Hip-Hop, R&B/Soul, and Afro-fusion, marking his entry into Nigeria's vibrant music scene.[3][5][6][7]
