United Scholars Academic Press

edit

I just want to note here for whoever reviews this draft that United Scholars Academic Press is owned by Alaric Naudé. It is specifically listed as Supported by: City University of Paris which is Alaric Naudé [1]. The "Review Panel" appears to be comprised mostly of his colleagues at Suwon University. Since the name “University of Paris City” is prominent, I assumed it must be related to this publisher, but is Naudé the owner?
I could not find any specific information about this publishing house, so I did not know.
Naudé used to be a co-owner of the University of Paris, but was later removed from that position and is now someone else. If I understand correctly and what the website says is correct, Naudé is employed as the university's president. Records show he was removed from his position as co-owner in February 2024.[2][3]
I don't know if they keep their website up to date. Maybe the information on the website is out of date and the person in charge is already different. Unfortunately, I couldn't confirm that far. I translated the Japanese version, but it didn't contain any more information than the current article. Tanukisann (talk) 08:00, 14 November 2024 (UTC)Reply
I was surprised and distraught. Now I'll calm down and explain again.
As for the publisher, I don't know if Mr. Naudé or the City University of Paris is the owner. I don't understand the capital relationships of this company. I do know that it says "Proudly Supported."
As for City University of Paris, Naudé used to be a co-owner, but that's no longer the case. I think his current position is probably that of a hired president. Tanukisann (talk) 09:15, 14 November 2024 (UTC)Reply
According to [4] updated May 2024, he was still President. The website lists him as president. The links you provided also list the City University of Paris as having 0 employees. Moreover, their website still lists Alaric as the President and lists Agnes Horry, the supposed owner, as VP. So according to the accreditation record he was president in May 2024 and Agnes Horry Rim was Vice President. Now the truly interesting part is apparently he was allegedly removed from his position in February 2024, but according to documents from 10/25/2023, he was removed there. Notably though it's a private for-profit operation that is controlled by shareholders and Agnes Horry apparently bought 10% of the shares round about 10/24/2023 when she becomes President. Prior to that, in February of 2023 according to the records the City University of Paris was transformed into its current form from something else and Alaric Naude was brought on.
United Scholars Academic Press purports itself as an academic press, but it lists a "University" Alaric Naude is clearly involved with as its major supporter and counts only Alaric Naude's book among its catalogue and comes after Alaric Naude was mocked on Twitter for his books being self-published. In fact, according to the domain information, "https://unitedscholarsacademicpress.com/" didn't exist until 10/28/2024, on 10/30/2024 you cite a tweet where Alaric promises his book is going to be forthcoming from a publisher. His tweet on 10/30/2024 actually seems to be addressing comments on Wikipedia that his book was self-published.
So, in the span of 2 days the book apparently underwent a rigorous peer review process that the Publisher claims it engages in? I find it doubtful. Brocade River Poems (She/They) 12:22, 14 November 2024 (UTC)Reply
Thank you for your early response. In order to make up for my poor English skills, I am using machine translation and looking up words in an English dictionary, so I apologize if any parts are difficult to read.
I know you have asked a lot of questions, but I am not an employee of City University of Paris or United Scholars Academic Press, so I do not have any information beyond what can be found on the web.
Like you, I have never heard of a company called United Scholars Academic Press.
When I looked at Amazon, I found that the publisher name for books that were sold first was written as "Independently published," and for books that came out later, it was written as "United Scholars Academic Press." ISBN is also different. It is thought that it was released by the publisher. I searched and couldn't find much information, so I think it might be a company that just started up.
I don't have any more information about this publisher than what I can find on the official website or search site. Therefore, if you ask me what kind of company I am, I cannot answer. Sorry.
As for the book, the self-published version was released in Japan on October 12th. He has finished writing the text before then. When he completed his self-published text, he may have also sent it to a publisher. However, these are only guesses. I'm not the author, so that's all I can say.
I'm Japanese, so I know a lot about Japan, but I don't know much about the French education system. Judging from this FAQ page, I think it's more like a vocational training school than a regular university.[5]
City University of Paris was jointly operated by three people until February 2024, but it seems that the number has changed to one. At that time, it seems that the company's terms and conditions were changed, so on paper, the company may have been liquidated. It is written that Naude's position has changed to that of a university president with no management authority.
However, your May 2024 information is more up to date than the site I pointed to. There may have been further changes. I think your information is probably better.
Thank you for letting me know. Tanukisann (talk) 15:07, 14 November 2024 (UTC)Reply
I am going to be hospitalized and cannot do anything for the time being. Anyone can help me with the rest, please.
I don't think you need to do anything until the review is finished. Tanukisann (talk) 08:08, 15 November 2024 (UTC)Reply
