Draft talk:Eco-Lighthouse

Hello,

Thanks for helping! The Wiki-page Eco-lighthouse is existing, but in my opinion the title should be Eco-Lighthouse (see talk page for Eco-lighthouse). It was easier write a completely new article than to change the existing one. --Seborg Vest (talk) 10:50, 25 July 2021 (UTC)Reply

@Seborg Vest: An existing page should easily be moved to a new title, subject to discussion. Creating a duplicate item can cause confusion and make work for other volunteers. Eagleash (talk) 11:00, 25 July 2021 (UTC)Reply
@Eagleash: Thanks for your involvement! It is my intension to replace the existing stub with the title Eco-lighthouse with my article (or an improvement of it) and the title Eco-Lighthouse. Thus no duplicates. The article is more important for me than the title.

Kind regards, --Seborg Vest (talk) 12:00, 25 July 2021 (UTC)Reply

@Seborg Vest: What is likely to happen now (IMO) is that the new draft will be declined and the suggestion made that the existing item be edited appropriately; however if an 'interested' AFC reviewer stumbles across it, they may merge the items to create the desired article. I can see what you are trying to achieve but Wikipedia does not typically 'work like that'. If an article exists (no matter of what level) it is conventional to edit it with the changes you desire. If you wish you could merge your 'draft' into the existing item yourself. See the instructions on how to do this at the 'merge' page linked above. It's not as complicated as it looks at first sight but the various steps are important from copyright, licensing and page history vewpoints. Unfortunately, I did not see your talk page note until after the sandbox draft had been moved – or I would have probably declined and referred to the existing article.
BTW puttin '@' in front of another editor's name does not get their attention; you need to use 'ping' as I have done here and the the ping, the message and your signature must all be added in one edit or it does not work. Please also indent replies by using ascending numbers of colons {':'). Thank you. Eagleash (talk) 19:15, 25 July 2021 (UTC)Reply
@Eagleash: OK, I can merge the articles, but not before the beginning of August. In principle the original and new article cover the same information. But I skipped the last sentence about the award, as I found no independent reference to it.

Thanks for your guidance! I am new to Wikipedia and maybe bit of more than I can chew with my first article. Seborg Vest (talk) 05:10, 26 July 2021 (UTC)Reply
