Title and use of article

edit

The manual of style prefers "human" or "crewed" over "manned". Consistency with existing lists like List of human spaceflights, 2021–present favors "human". I would move it but I there are two more things to consider first: (1) A solo spaceflight is a spaceflight with just one passenger. That's not what the list is about, this needs to be adjusted. (2) Do we really need this list? All the flights are covered by the list by decade. --mfb (talk) 01:37, 7 August 2023 (UTC)Reply

I specifically wrote "manned" because "human" or "crewed" could include spacecraft that can fly manned but are flying unmanned during an orbital flight (such as Boe-OFT). The "solo" in the article refers to the solo flight of a spacecraft, not of an astronaut, and WP is using this expression on their spaceflight pages (such as in the first sentence in STS-125). And yes, such list is interesting, it shows up how few flights in the 21st century orbited on their own. You could also have asked why we need this list (which I find interesting too). I question the use of that other list, too, but at least it has a more fitting title. --mfb (talk) 16:21, 31 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
I changed the title so that it isn't misleading now as the "solo" clearly refers to the spacecraft. Glasfaser Wien (talk) 10:17, 1 September 2023 (UTC)Reply
