History
editIn May 2012, discussions took place among the clubs FT Geestemünde, Geestemünder SC, Geestemünder TV, and ESV Bremerhaven regarding a potential merger.[3] However, the proposed SV Bürgerpark did not materialize. Eventually, in the summer of 2014, FT Geestemünde, ESV Bremerhaven, and SC Schiffdorferdamm merged their football departments to form ESC Geestemünde. On January 1, 2015, FT Geestemünde absorbed ESV Bremerhaven and underwent a name change to ESC Geestemünde. SC Schiffdorferdamm continued the merger until June 30, 2015, after which it separated from the football department. For the 2015–16 season, the football department merged with the department of Geestemünder SC, significantly strengthening ESC Geestemünde's football department.[4] The most successful founding club was FT Geestemünde, whose men's team participated in the DFB-Pokal once, while the women's team participated three times in the DFB-Pokal (Women).
The new club took over FT Geestemünde's place in the Landesliga Bremen. On the final day of the season, the team secured promotion to the Bremen-Liga with an 8–4 victory against OT Bremen.
