Eddie Festival is an annual festival celebrated by the chiefs and people of Wassa in the Western Region of Ghana. It is usually celebrated in the month of January.[1][2][3][4]
Celebrations
editDuring the festival, visitors are welcomed to share food and drinks. The people put on traditional clothes and there is durbar of chiefs. There is also dancing and drumming.[5]
Significance
editThis festival is celebrated to mark an event that took place in the past.[6] The festival fosters unity among the local people and brings about peace in the area.[7] It also enforces planning for the development of projects.[8]
