Electoral results for the district of Ryde

Ryde, an electoral district of the Legislative Assembly in the Australian state of New South Wales, has had four incarnations since it was first established in 1894. It has returned one member for most of its existence, except for the period 1920 to 1927 when it returned five members.[1][2][3][4]

Arthur Williams (Labor) won the seat at the 1940 by-election, but after the re-distribution, chose to contest Georges River instead and Labor did not field a candidate. Eric Solomon was the United Australia member for the abolished seat of Petersham. James Shand was the United Australia member for the abolished seat of Hornsby and had been denied pre-selection.[28]
