Evaldo Maurício Silva (born April 29, 1991),[1] better known as Evaldo Macarrão, is a Brazilian actor and comedian, working in theater, cinema and television, with emphasis on humorous works. The actor participates in the reissue of the soap opera Renascer in 2024 with the character "Jupará".[2] Previously, he acted on the program Zorra Total and the comedy series O Cangaceiro do Futuro, among others.[3] [4] He made his debut playing the character "Pajé Murici young", in Grande Família.[5]

The actor is involved in the black movement, and sees art as a way to combat pain such as racism, to create spaces for representation and protest against inequality, even if it is through love and humor.[5][6]
Biography
editBorn in the Cosme de Farias neighborhood, in Salvador, Bahia, Evaldo began his professional contact with dramaturgy at the Integral Reference Center for Adolescents (CRIA), an NGO active in the Pelourinho region, from which he received a scholarship to act.[6]
At the age of 14, at the encouragement of Carla Lopes, from the NGO, Evaldo auditioned and was approved to play the character "Pirulito", in the film Capitães da Areia. His stage name, Evaldo Macarrão, dates from the same time, and was a nickname that came from a vocal coach that Evaldo refused to do, which drew attention to him for being "all soft, like a noodle."[5]
At CRIA, he participated in several theater plays. He entered the world of television after signing up for Rede Globo's "talent bank" for the soap opera Gabriela, but ended up being called to A Grande Família, doing his first scene on TV with Pedro Cardoso.[5]
In addition to being an actor, Evaldo graduated as a teacher from the Catholic University of Salvador in 2018.[5]
