Compiled in the 'scrapbook' style, these examples by Madarasz show his skill with the pointed nib pen in the cursive writing style known as Ornamental Penmanship or Dashy Writing, practised in America around the turn of the 19th-20th centuries, which incorporated shading (line variation) and flourishing related to, but usually more reserved than, the Spencerian style.
