Summary

Description
English: After Kirby 1934, 190 as in Lucia, Christine; ed. (2009). The World of South African Music: A Reader, p.36. Cambridge. ISBN 1904303366. Skillful melody (upper staff) produced by a player on the lesiba, a musical bow, without grunts of indefinite pitch on the exhalation (which would make breathing easier). The notes of the harmonic series often shade the melody notes (lower staff). After the melody on E it is repeated on F (F is kept constant, changing the tuning of E: on E F is 9/8, on F E is 7/4).
