Description

Depicted person: Per Brahe (greve riksdrots)

Svenska: Knäbild stående, fas höger. Svart rustning med förgyllda nitar, vit halsduk. I högra handen fältmarskalkstav. Rött livgehäng. Värja med förgyllt fäste.
Målad inskrift: "PETRVS BRAHE, COMES ET DROTZETVS." På dukens baksida: "Orginal af van Dycks skola", två lacksigill. Kilad spännram. Förgylld profilerad ram.

Per Brahe the Younger was the Governor General of Finland and member of the Swedish Pivy Council. This portrait by Beck differs from the others he painted of members of the circle of people close to Charles X with its more subtile backdrop without the obligatory drapery and the ribbon across the chest.
