English: The pepper wharf of the Dutch East India Company, Amsterdam
The artist should more correctly be called Reinier Zeeman as the name Nooms is not recorded in any documents relating to the artist's life. In addition to paintings and drawings Zeeman produced a large number of etchings, including views of Amsterdam and Paris which he is thought to have visited.
This rather untypical drawing shows the Dutch ship 'Wappen van Hollandt' (1653), and is topographically of great interest.
