Francesco Gheghi (born 19 August 2003) is an Italian actor. For his role as Luigi Celeste in the 2024 film Familia, he won the Orizzonti Award for Best Actor at the 81st Venice International Film Festival.

Early life

Gheghi was born in Marino, Lazio.[1] His parents own a pizzeria.[2][3] He has an older sister.[4]

From 2015 to 2020, he attended the Jenny Tamburi drama school in Rome.[1] He graduated from a liceo delle scienze umane in 2021.[5]

Career

He began acting in theater productions at the age of eight. At the age of 14, he made his professional acting debut in the 2018 film Io sono Tempesta by Daniele Luchetti.[6][7]

In 2024, he starred as Luigi Celeste in the film Familia, a role that won him the Orizzonti Award for Best Actor at the 81st Venice International Film Festival.[8]

Personal life

He is a fan of AS Roma.[9] He is in a relationship with actress Lea Gavino, the sister of actor Damiano Gavino.[2]
