editGeorgsdorf lies north of Nordhorn on the Süd-Nord-Kanal (South-North Canal) and the Coevorden-Piccardie-Kanal. It belongs to the Joint Community (Samtgemeinde) of Neuenhaus, whose administrative seat is in the like-named town.
