Background
editGlaucus was a bay horse. His sire was Partisan, of which through his lineage continued the Walton branch of the Sir Peter Teazle direct sire line. His dam was Nanine.[1]
Racing career
editGlaucus ran for five seasons, from 1832 to 1836. His major wins include the Gold Cup at Ascot, and the Goodwood Cup.[2]
Stud record
editGlaucus produced two classic winners, both fillies (Pic-Nic and Refraction), both born in 1842. His son, The Nob, was a moderately successful racehorse. The Nob sired The Nabob, who was a successful sire of racehorses in France. Glaucus was sent to Germany to continue stud duty, but was not as successful.[1]
