Greyfriars is an inner city suburb and ward of the city of Hereford in Herefordshire, England. It is located directly west of the city centre on the River Wye. Greyfriars borders the Central ward to the east and is separated from it by the A49 road/Victoria Street Bridge.[1] The ward is represented by Cllr Diana Toynbee. It is one of the sixteen wards of Hereford City Council and had a population recorded at the 2021 Census of 3,875.

Transport

Greyfriars was once served by Hereford Barton railway station which was located to the northwest of the area on Barton Road. The site is now occupied by a car park and Sainsburys supermarket and petrol station.[4] Also nearby was Hereford Moorfields railway station which was northwest of the Hereford Barton station. Moorfields is now occupied by Taurus Healthcare and an industrial estate.[5]
