Gustavo Gatica Villarroel is a Chilean psychologist, human rights activist, and politician.
He was elected as a member of the Chamber of Deputies of Chile, representing the 8th District, under the banner of Social Convergence.[1]
Biography
[edit source]Gatica became a national symbol during the 2019 Chilean social uprising after losing his eyesight as a result of police shotgun pellets. His case gained international attention and positioned him as a prominent human rights figure.
He graduated as a psychologist and continued to engage in activism for victims of state violence, disability rights, and institutional reform.
Political career
