Henry H. Houston Elementary School

The Henry H. Houston Elementary School is an historic elementary school which is located in the Mount Airy neighborhood of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It is part of the School District of Philadelphia.

The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1989.[1]

History and architectural features

The building was designed by Irwin T. Catharine and built between 1926 and 1927. It is a three-story, nine-bay, brick building which sits on a raised basement. It was designed in the Late Gothic Revival-style, and features a projecting stone entryway with Tudor arched opening, stone surrounds, and a crenelated parapet.[2]

The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1989.[1]
