Hereford is an extinct town in Grant County, in the U.S. state of Minnesota.[1]
History
editHereford was platted in 1887 when the railroad was extended to that point.[2] The community was named after the local herds of Hereford cattle.[2] A post office was established at Hereford in 1888, and remained in operation until it was discontinued in 1923.[3] The town of Hereford had disappeared by the 1940s, with the exception of the cemetery which still remains.[4]
