History

edit

Insaniyat Biplob Bangladesh was officially established in 2010 as a new political party in Bangladesh. The party has been operating independently in the country [10][11] and has not yet formed any alliances with other political parties or groups.

In 2017, Insaniyat Biplob Bangladesh applied for registration as a political party with the Bangladesh Election Commission, but the commission initially rejected their application.[12] Subsequently, Insaniyat Biplob Bangladesh filed a writ petition in the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court, which ruled in favor of Insaniyat Biplob Bangladesh. After the Appellate Division's decision, the party was registered.[13]

Ideology

edit

The party's ideology is centered around humanity, establishing a humanitarian state by prioritizing humanistic values and self-ownership.[14][15]

Symbol and flag

edit

Insaniyat Biplob Bangladesh has been using a red apple as its election symbol.[16] Although the party's logo prominently features a white rose, due to the election symbol of another registered political party, Zaker Party, being a rose, Insaniyat Biplob Bangladesh was unable to obtain the white rose as its election symbol. Instead, the Election Commission allocated them the red apple symbol.[17]

2018 election

edit

In 2017, after the Election Commission rejected Insaniyat Biplob Bangladesh's application for registration as a political party, the party decided to field independent candidates in the election. Although eight independent candidates participated in the election, none of them won any seats. The party claimed that the election was neither free nor fair.[18]

Each of the independent candidates was assigned a separate election symbol. The party's Secretary-General, Sheikh Rahan Afzal Rahbar, contested the election with the apple symbol, while the remaining candidates contested with the lion symbol.[19] Other candidates included Irfanul Haque, Emdadul Haque, Sabina Khatun Sabbi, Aref Sartaj, Milon Morshed, Sheikh Hanif, and Hasan Ahmed.

Among the candidates, Sabina Khatun Sabbi was the only female candidate in her constituency.[20] The party had other candidates whose candidacies were canceled by the Election Commission, but no information about them was provided.

Twelfth national election

edit

During discussions with the Election Commission, Insaniyat Biplob Bangladesh set the dissolution of the current parliament and deployment of the army as conditions for participating in the election.[21] Since their demands were not met, Insaniyat Biplob Bangladesh boycotted the twelfth national election.[22] They filed a writ petition in the High Court, demanding the dissolution of the parliament and re-scheduling of the election under the direct supervision of the army. The writ petition also sought the deployment of the army with magistracy powers to maintain law and order during the election.[23] However, the High Court dismissed the writ as it was not presented. Later, Insaniyat Biplob Bangladesh filed another writ seeking elections under the supervision of the army after dissolving the parliament.[24] The writ was again dismissed, after which Insaniyat Biplob Bangladesh appealed to the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court.[25][26][27][28]

Global presence

edit

Insaniyat Biplob Bangladesh is globally recognized as the World Humanity Revolution. The party is registered in France and Portugal, with registration currently under progress in the United Kingdom.[29][30]
