I Am Not Insane is a 2010 album by Michael Gira. The release consists of a CD with new material, and a DVD of two live shows that includes a 16-minute "mini-doc" (by the same name) on Gira's new material in acoustic demo form, shot and edited by Francisco Macias.[1] Several songs were considered, and eventually revised, for inclusion on Swans' comeback album, My Father Will Guide Me Up a Rope to the Sky.[2][3] Gira released this album in order to help raise money to fund the recording of the upcoming Swans album,[2][4] following his announcement that he had reformed the band.[5]
