Ilia Andriyovych Volok (Ukrainian: Ілля Андрійович Волох, romanized: Illya Andriyovych Volokh; Russian: Илья Андреевич Волох; (born 1 November 1965)[1] is a Ukrainian actor, based in the United States. He has appeared in over 170 films, television series, and video games since his debut in 1994.[2]

Early life
editVolok was born in Kyiv.[3] Prior to his acting career, he was a member of the Soviet national rowing team, finishing third place in the Men’s Pair at the 1982 World Rowing Junior Championships,[4] and later becoming Ukrainian national champion.[3]
He studied at the Moscow Art Theatre School under Alexander Kalyagin.[2][5] He worked as a professional stage actor in Russia, before emigrating to the United States at the age of 25, in 1990.[5] He initially supplemented his income by working in a cemetery.[3]
Career
editVolok has appeared in more than 90 films and television programs. He starred as Vladimir Krasin in Air Force One and portrayed Master Org in Power Rangers Wild Force. Additionally, he has had recurring roles in General Hospital and The Young and the Restless. He guest starred in an episode of Friends in which reference was made to Air Force One without mentioning him as one of its actors.[citation needed]
Volok frequently performs on stage. He co-wrote, co-created, and starred as the title character in the comedy play Fakov in America.[6] He plays a leading part in Cat's Paw, an Actors Studio project.[7] In Diary of a Madman by short story Nikolai Gogol.[8] The character Vladimir Kamarivsky in the Electronic Arts video game Battlefield 3 is modeled after and voiced by Volok.[citation needed] Volok also plays and voices the character Vladislav "Vlad" Kozak in the Overkill Software video game Payday 2.
He won the 2013 LA Weekly Theater Award for Best Solo Performance for his role in Diary of a Madman.[9]
Personal life
editVolok splits his time between Los Angeles and Paris.[1][9] He is married to an American woman.[5]
Volok is fluent in Ukrainian, Russian, English, and proficient in several other languages.[9]
