History

edit

It was established in 2005 when Islamic Mission Trust donated its non-functional hospital in Korangi, Karachi to Indus Hospital and Health Network.[2] Islamic Mission Trust Hospital was originally established in 1988.[3] When it started, it was Pakistan's first paperless and cashless hospital; the hospital has an e-cardiology system.[4]

IHHN comprises 15 hospitals, four regional blood centres,[5] four physical rehab centres,[6] a Pediatic Oncology Centre reputed to be the largest[citation needed] in Pakistan, 36 Primary Care offerings,[7] and conducts public health initiatives.[8]

Indus Hospital and Health Network includes the Indus University of Health Sciences,[9] the Indus Hospital Research Center,[10] and a Postgraduate Medical Education Program[11] in its ambit. It is accredited by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Pakistan.[12]
