Jackson Township, Wayne County, Indiana

Jackson Township is one of fifteen townships in Wayne County, Indiana, United States. As of the 2010 census, its population was 4,660 and it contained 2,136 housing units.[3]

Jackson Township was organized in 1817.[4]

Geography

According to the 2010 census, the township has a total area of 28.33 square miles (73.4 km2), of which 27.98 square miles (72.5 km2) (or 98.76%) is land and 0.35 square miles (0.91 km2) (or 1.24%) is water.[3] Lakes in this township include Hi-Way Springs. The streams of Auburn Brook, Coon Creek, Crietz Creek, Horn Creek, Lick Branch, Pinhook Drain, Pronghorn Run, Springs Run and Symonds Creek run through this township.
