Jaimangla Garh Temple

Jaimangla Garh Temple is an ancient historical Hindu temple in Begusarai district of Bihar state of India. It is surrounded by Kanwar Lake. It is dedicated to the goddess Chandi Mangla Devi. An idol of the goddess is enshrined there.[1]

Mythology

According to Hindu mythology, the temple is a shaktipeetha,a place where body parts of goddess Sati fell upon the Earth.[citation needed]

History

The temple is believed to have been founded by the rulers of Pala Dynasty in the ninth or tenth Century CE, although ancient remains found here date back to period of Lord Buddha. Archaeological remains have been found in the southern gate.[2]
