James Robert Baxter (8 October 1887 – 22 April 1952) was an Australian rules footballer who played with Collingwood in the Victorian Football League (VFL) and Footscray in the Victorian Football Association (VFA).[1]

Baxter later served in the Australian Army during World War I.
Death
editJames Baxter died in April 1952 as a result of a fall into an empty coal bunker at the Tongala Milk Products factory where he was employed.[2][3][4] The Coroner's inquest into his death was unable to determine the cause of his fall.[5][6]
