John Gereb de Vingart (sometimes referred to as Vingard), (b.???? - d.????) was a Hungarian Noble man who served as Vice-voide(1450-1458) of Transylvania under Michael Szilágyi however rose to the position of Governor(1445-1460) under Emeric III Bebek.[1]
He served Loyal to the Hungarian crown for many years he was eventually rewarded for his service though his son received it Matthias Gereb recived Castle Fogaras.[1]
In 1458 he had commuised an manor house for Stephen Erdélyi.[1][2]
Was a Truste of John hunyadi[3]
Was a Loyal Follower of Władysław, to the extend of trying to kill Vlad the Impaler while he was improsied under John Hunyadi.[4][3]
Only Vice-Voide to received the tiles of magnificus and egregius.[1]
He had 2 sons Peter and Matthias, Peter followed in his footsteps became captain of Upper Silesia (1476), voivode of Transylvania and comes of the Székely (1477–1479)[5]
