Established in 1973 as "The Great Amman Hospital" (Arabic: مستشفى عمان الكبير).[1] later affiliated with the University of Jordan in 1975 and renamed "Jordan University Hospital" (JUH), this institution has been a prominent fixture in Jordan's healthcare sector. Situated on Queen Rania Al Abdullah Street in the bustling Jubeiha area, JUH has expanded over the years to meet the increasing demand for patient care and medical education.[citation needed]

Jordan University Hospital was established in 1973 originally known as the Great Amman Hospital (Arabic: مستشفى عمان الكبير).[1] In 1975, it became affiliated with the University of Jordan, becoming the first university teaching hospital in Jordan and adopting the name "Jordan University Hospital".

The hospital is situated on Queen Rania Al Abdullah Street, in Jubeiha area.

JUH treats patients both from Jordan and neighboring countries. It is the first academic teaching hospital in Jordan. The hospital is considered to be the first hospital in the Arab region, the second in the Middle East, and the eighteenth worldwide to receive accreditation from the Joint Commission International (JCI).[5]
