Political Formation

edit

Until 1888, Juárez Celman was part of an old and vast department called Río Cuarto. On July 23rd of that year, a law that divided Río Cuarto's territory into three departments was approved. One of these three sections was Juárez Celman.

Together with the creation of Juárez Celman as a department, the city of La Carlota was designated as the capital city of this department. Currently, Juárez Celman has 8.902 km², which is the 5.38% of the whole province of Córdoba.
