Kashmir granite

Kashmir granite is granite found in Madurai, Tamil Nadu state, India. The two main Kashmir granite types are gold and white.[1] The former is a yellow coloured granite with black granules in its structure,[2] and the latter is a white base granite with brown and black mineral inclusions.

Kashmir white granite

People often tout Kashmir granite as a selling feature in expensive homes.[3] Kashmir white granite is sometimes used for paving ground surfaces.[4] It is also used as a countertop surface.[5]

While large deposits of granite, limestone and marble are found in parts of India,[6][7] neither granite type are found in the Kashmir region. "Kashmir gold [granite]" and "Kashmir white granite" are trade names.[8]
