Kawaakibi Foundation

Kawaakibi Foundation is an Oslo-based human rights organisation that focuses on the future of liberty in the Arab world.^[1]^[2]^[3]^[4]

Founded by Iyad El-Baghdadi and Ahmed Gatnash, the organisation emerged in the wake of the Arab Spring to explore how media can promote democracy and human rights in the Middle East.^[5]^[6]^[7]^[1] It is named after Abd al-Rahman al-Kawakibi.^[8]

The Kawaakibi Foundation conducts research, media production and advocacy in areas such as human rights, disinformation monitoring, arts, mental health, and Bitcoin.^[6]^[9]^[10]^[11]^[12]
