Career

edit

Ken Ross received his education in the United States and Switzerland. He embarked on his photography career in Sydney, Australia, in 1985. His work has taken him to 112 countries.

Ross's photographs have been featured in numerous books published in the U.S. and Europe, including his own project, Real Taste of Life. His work has been exhibited in Phoenix, New York, Japan and Mexico. In May 2008, Ross had his first museum exhibit, a single artist show at the Art Museum of Monterey, Mexico. His work has been featured in How to Shoot Location Photography: Give It a Shot, Create magazine (fall 2005) and Photomedia magazine (spring 2006).[1] He previously worked with Through Each Others Eyes (TEOE),[2] an Arizona not-for-profit corporation, whose goal is to promote international understanding via the medium of photography.

In recent years, he has become more active in his non-profit organization, The Elisabeth Kübler-Ross (EKR) Foundation.[3] The EKR Foundation has chapters in twelve countries, continuing his mother's legacy. The foundation primarily focuses on hospice care, palliative care, and grief. In 2018, Stanford University acquired all the archives of Dr. Kübler-Ross. For the 50th anniversary of "On Death & Dying," he appeared in various interviews, including Radiolab, Irish National Radio, the BBC's "Witness History" and the Australian Broadcasting Corp. (ABC) television, speaking about his mother's legacy. Between 2022 and 2023, he gave live presentations in Ecuador, Guatemala, India, Mexico, Nepal, Singapore, and Uganda on behalf of the Elisabeth Kübler-Ross Foundation.

As president of the Elisabeth Kübler-Ross Foundation, Ross manages relationships with over 80 publishers of Dr. Kübler-Ross's work in 44 languages, oversees public relations, addresses copyright and trademark issues, develops international EKR chapters, forges strategic partnerships, and curates her archives.[4] He is also currently working on a dramatized film version of his mother's life story.

In 2023, Ross was listed in Marquis Who's Who in America. He was also named an honorary faculty member of the University of Indonesia (Jakarta) School of Economics in 2023.

Ross serves on the board of directors for Open to Hope and is a member of the advisory council for the Humane Prison Hospice Project as of 2024.

Ken Ross co-owns four trademarks, including his mother's name, Elisabeth Kübler-Ross, and the Kübler-Ross Change Curve, through the Elisabeth Kübler-Ross Family Limited Partnership.[5]
