editWhile at Santa Fe, Mantilla briefly played alongside Francisco Meza, who he cited as a reference for his style of play.[3] Following his impressive performances at the 2023 South American U-20 Championship, Mantilla was linked with a move to English Premier League side Liverpool.[4][5]
Talleres
editOn 27 July 2023, Argentine Primera División side Talleres announced the signing of Mantilla on a four-year deal,[6] paying a reported fee of €1.8 million for 80% of the player's economic rights.[7]
