Kevin Dwayne Winston Jr. (born December 2, 2003) is an American football safety for the Penn State Nittany Lions.

Early years

Kevin Winston Jr. attended middle school at Washington Jesuit Academy in Washington, D.C., where his father is the vice principal.[1][2] His father, Kevin Winston Sr. played football at James Madison University for four seasons, winning a National Championship in 2004.[3][4] Winston Jr. attended DeMatha Catholic High School in Hyattsville, Maryland. As a senior in 2021, he was named the All-Met Defensive Player Player of the Year by The Washington Post after recording 50 tackles, three interceptions and a fumble recovery for a touchdown.[5] He committed to Penn State University to play college football.[6][7]

College career

As a true freshman at Penn State in 2022, Winston Jr. played in 12 games and had 16 tackles.[8] As a sophomore in 2023, he started 13 games and had 61 tackles and an interception.[9][10] After the season, Winston was awarded All-Big Ten honorable mention laurels.[4]

Winston Jr. plans on majoring in criminal justice at Penn State.[4]
