Early years

A native of Vidalia, Georgia, Ruff is the fourth child born into the Lane-Green family. She has four sisters and two brothers. Kim was very talented in high school and college at Brewton Parker. She received Most Talented in high school and her junior and senior year at Brewton Parker College.

Musical career

Ruff is a mezzo-soprano often compared to Whitney Houston.[1] On June 26, 2009, Ruff released her debut solo album, Ready to Live. The album was nominated for New Artist of the Year and Contemporary Female Artist at the Stellar Awards,[2] and won the Fan Favorite award for New Artist of the Year.[3] Ruff wrote and co-produced the entire album. Ruff has been compared to songwriter Diane Warren for creating music with simple lyrics and melodies.[1] Kim won a Stellar Award for fan favorite at the 25th Annual Stellar Awards 2010.

Kim is a prolific author of over 100 books. She is considered a beloved children's author. Her books span over self help books, financial, faith based and financial. She is called a renaissance woman.

Kim Ruff- Moore's books are all available with the world's largest book retailers.Her most notable books include Girl, Mash the Gas: Stop procrastinating, Girl, Forgive them and moved on, I speak life, Never put all your eggs in one basket, Cuffed, Marriage releases Gods favor, Waymaker, Secrets of a successful published author, I Still have Joy, I want to sing like Whitney, Suzzie Mocha childrens series, Pebo Pig series, and many others. Kim is also a ghost writer and his written many books for notable authors.

Ruff was crowned Miss Black Teen of Vidalia, Georgia in 1988.

Personal life

Kim was widowed after her husband of 27 years, Mack Ruff died of a pulmonary embolism. She has since married music producer and former Soul Stirrers member, gospel singer-songwriter Jeffery Moore. Together, they are members of the Gospel husband and wife duo group The New Consolers. Kim's son Spencer Carrington was born on November 3, 2001. Spencer is featured on her album singing a duet titled "Child of A King". Spencer is a very talented singer-songwriter working on his debut album.
