History
editKita-Kanaoka Station began as Kita-Kanoka Signal Stop (金岡信号場) on June 1, 1944, and was elevated to a full station on the Japan National Railway (JNR), serving the village of Kanaoka, Akita on February 25, 1952. The station was absorbed into the JR East network upon the privatization of the JNR on April 1, 1987. It has been unattended since May 2005. A new station building was completed in April 2006.
