Early life and high school

In Perich's junior season, he rushed for over 800 yards, notched 75 tackles, two sacks, three interceptions four forced fumbles, and 25 touchdowns.[1] During Perich's first game of his senior season, he intercepted two passes which he returned both for touchdowns.[2] During Perich's senior season, he amassed 27 total touchdowns, with five defensive touchdowns, four return touchdowns, sixteen rushing touchdowns, a passing touchdown, and a receiving touchdown.[3][4] On defense during his senior season he notched 76 tackles, three interceptions, and four fumble recoveries.[5] For his performance on his senior season, Perich was named all-state.[6] Perich was invited to play in the 2024 High School All-American Bowl, where he intercepted a pass on the goal line, and blocked a punt.[7] For his performance in the game, Perich was named the bowl's MVP.[8][9] Perich held offers from schools such as USC, Michigan, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa and Washington.[10] Perich also picked up late offers from Florida State and Ohio State.[11]

Perich decided to commit to play college football for the Minnesota Golden Gophers.[12][13][14]
