LOGOS Research Group in Analytic Philosophy

The LOGOS Research Group in Analytic Philosophy is a group of researchers working at Catalonian universities who work in the analytic tradition of philosophy.[1] Its current coordinator is Sven Rosenkranz. LOGOS was founded in 1993, and has been officially recognized as a "Consolidated Research Group" by the Generalitat de Catalunya since 1997. The latest such recognition was received for the cycle 2022–2024.[citation needed]

LOGOS members are affiliated with a number of universities in Catalonia, including the University of Barcelona, the Autonomous University of Barcelona, Pompeu Fabra University and the University of Girona. Its members lead a number of individual or joint research projects. The group’s regular activities also include research seminars and reading groups, public colloquia with invited speakers, and the organization of conferences and workshops. Since 1999, the signature LOGOS event, the Barcelona Workshop, takes place in Barcelona biennially.[2] LOGOS participates in the philosophy branch of the Master's and PhD programmes in Language and Cognitive Science (CCiL)[3] and in the Master's programme in Analytic Philosophy (APhil).[4] LOGOS student members are primarily enrolled in those programmes.[citation needed]

Previous LOGOS Coordinators include philosophers Genoveva Martí and Manuel García-Carpintero. Other past and current members include, among many others, Fernando Broncano-Berrocal, Fabrice Correia, Esa Díaz-León, José Díez, David Ebrey, Carl Hoefer, Max Kölbel, Josep Macià, Teresa Marques, Manolo Martínez, David Pineda, Sven Rosenkranz, Joshua Shepherd, Thomas Sturm, Josefa Toribio and Agustín Vicente. Several LOGOS members have been awarded with funding by the Catalan Institution for Research and Advanced Studies.[citation needed]

Since 2016, LOGOS is part of the Barcelona Institute of Analytic Philosophy (BIAP), which is currently recognized as a María de Maeztu Unit of Excellence by the Spanish State Research Agency.[5] This and previous funding applications coordinated by LOGOS members were awarded in excess of 9 million Euros.[citation needed]
