editLa Purisima Concepcion Academy, formerly known as Mataasnakahoy High School was founded in June 1947 by a group of respectable, educated men and women in the persons of Ricardo B. Bonilla, Judge Calixto P. Luna, Dr. Lauro M. Lobrin, Juan L. Silva, Marcela N. Capuno, Rosaria D. Mendoza, and Melchor L. Silva with Mrs. Eden Recinto as its first appointed principal.
In 1965, the name of the school was changed from Mataasnakahoy Highschool to La Purisima Concepcion Academy.
