List of churches in Norwich

The following is a list of churches in the district of Norwich. The district is the limit of the Norwich City Council and does not include several of the outlying suburbs.

The churches lie within Norwich city which is divided into several wards

The ancient medieval city of Norwich within the walls at one time had 57 parish churches, the largest collection of urban medieval buildings in any one city north of the Alps.[1] Ten are still in use by the Church of England, while many are in use for other purposes.

NHCT is the Norwich Historic Churches Trust, a body that maintains and repurposes redundant church buildings in Norwich.[62]

Saint James the Less, Pockthorpe James the Less Medieval 1972 Church of England NHCT. Home to Norwich Puppet Theatre since 1980[79]
St John the Theologian, Norwich John the Evangelist Medieval 1984 Church of England NHCT. AKA John de Sepulchre. Currently in use as a wedding and ceremonies venue run by The Flint Rooms[80][81]

St Michael at Plea, Norwich Michael Medieval 1971 Church of England NHCT. Currently rented to a Christian bookshop.[90] It also has a cafe/tearoom and hosts a range of talks and events[91]
St Michael at Thorn, Norwich Michael Medieval 1942 Church of England Damaged and burnt out by bombing 27 June 1942[46] and demolished during the 1950s.[92] Porch incorporated into rebuilding of St Julian.
