Crown Point High School and Lowell High School
editA notable rivalry has existed primarily between the football teams from Crown Point High School and Lowell High School since approximately 1903.[3] Each team competes for "The Old Leather Helmet Trophy",[4][5] a piece of World War I era leather headgear that is mounted to a wooden platform.[6] This trophy symbolizes the long history of the schools' rivalry on the football field, though the rivalry extends into other athletic arenas.[7] Crown Point High School and Lowell High School are not in the same athletic conference,[8] they choose to compete once during the football season to continue the long competitive history.
