Michael Rider is an American fashion designer.[1] In October 2024 Rider was announced as the incoming creative director of Celine. He will succeed current director Hedi Slimane in early 2025.[2][3]

Rider worked as a senior designer at Balenciaga from 2004 to 2008. From 2008 to 2018 he worked under Phoebe Philo as design director of ready-to-wear at Celine.[4] He joined Ralph Lauren in 2018 as creative director, where he worked until May 2024.[5][6]

Personal life

Rider was raised in Washington D.C.[7] He attended Brown University.[2]
