Mindanao island-thrush

The Mindanao island-thrush (Turdus nigrorum), also known as the Negros island-thrush,[2] is a species of passerine in the family Turdidae. It is endemic to the Philippines. Prior to 2024, it was four separate subspecies of Island thrush, before the Island thrush was split into 17 species by the IOC and Clements checklist.[3][4]

Taxonomy

The nominate subspecies, T. n. nigrorum, was described in 1896 by Scottish ornithologist William Robert Ogilvie-Grant based on a specimen taken from Kanlaon, Negros.[2]
