The Ministry of Education is a ministry in Zambia. It is headed by the Minister of Education and oversees primary, secondary and tertiary education.
In 2015, a decision was made to create a separate ministry called the Ministry of Higher Education, which would oversee tertiary and vocational education, while renaming this ministry as the Ministry of General Education to oversee primary and secondary education.[1] After the 2021 general election, the two ministries were merged to form the one ministry named Ministry of Education.[2]
