The Ministry of Science and Higher Education (Amharic: የሳይንስ እና ከፍተኛ ትምህርት ሚኒስቴር) was the Ethiopian government department established in 2018[1] which has a responsibility to lead the development of science, higher education, and the technical and vocational education and training (TVET) in the country.[2] It established by proclamation number 1097/2018 in October 2018.[3] Hirut Woldemariam is the prior by leading the ministry since its foundation to August 2020.[4] Samuel Urkato was the Minister of Science and Higher Education from August 2020[5] to October 2021, when it was merged into the Ministry of Education.[6]
