Mountain Province State University (MPSU) is the only public university in Mountain Province, Philippines. It is mandated to provide higher professional, technical and special instructions for special purposes and promote research and extension services, advanced studies and progressive leadership in agriculture, education, forestry, engineering, arts, sciences, humanities, and other fields.[1] Its main campus is in Bontoc, Mountain Province.

History
editHaving been established as the Mountain Province Community College, it was converted into the Mountain Province State Polytechnic College by President Corazon Aquino on January 17, 1992, following the passage of Republic Act No. 7182.[2]
On August 1, 2024, President Bongbong Marcos signed into law Republic Act No. 12016, converting the college into the Mountain Province State University.[3]
Campuses
editMountain Province State University operates a multi-campus system strategically located across Mountain Province to serve its diverse student population. The main campus is situated in Bontoc, the provincial capital, which houses the university's administrative offices and offers the majority of undergraduate and graduate programs. This campus serves as the primary hub for academic activities and student services.
The Tadian campus, known for its strong focus on engineering and agricultural programs, is located in the municipality of Tadian. This campus has developed a reputation for excellence in technical education, particularly in Civil, Electrical, and Geodetic Engineering programs.
