Muri & Ko is a 2024 Nigerian film directed by Biodun Stephen. The film produced in collaboration with FilmOne distribution features Kunle Remi, Bisola Aiyeola, Bucci Franklin, Femi Jacobs, Charles Okocha and a child actor, Fiyinfoluwa Asenuga in lead character.[1] The film was released to Nigerian cinema on June 12, 2024.[2] Kunle Remi who starred in the movie had his musical debut opportunity by singing one of the songs used in the movie - 'Muri Picka'.[3]

Synopsis

Muri & Ko follows a story of Muri (played by Kunle Remi) who is known in the neighbourhood to be a petty thief, he soon found a big opportunity to steal a luxury car in a mall, he seized the opportunity and steals the car with a child, Cole (played by Fiyinfoluwa Asenuga) in it unknown to him. As soon as he found the child in the car with him, he sought for a way to discharge the young boy by dumping him on the road, the boy was pounced on by hoodlums and Muri had pity on him and decided on embark on the journey with him.

A 10Million Naira bounty was placed on Cole's head for anyone with reliable information that can point the police to where he is, unknown to Muri, he still continued his journey trying to evade the police who are on the search for the car and the boy, Muri and Cole soon became very close forming 'Muri & Ko' bond.[4]

Release and recognition

Following the release of Muri & Ko to the cinema on June 12 of 2024, it grossed over 100Million in the cinema,[6] the film was released to Amazon Prime Video in August of 2024.[7]
